BOOKSMITH BOOKSWAP: GET LIT!

Friday, May 4 2012 at 6:30 PM

Kingsley Amis said in Everyday Drinking,

"Fruit juice and company don't mix."

In this spirit (sorry), we invite you to get A Few Chapters Into the Novel at our first-ever Booze-themed Bookswap, dedicated to a writer's best friend: Alcohol. Hemingway, Greene, Wallace, Poe, Parker, Faulkner... all the greats were looking through a glass, so let's raise one to them.

You'll need to bring a book. A book by a boozer, or one that makes you feel drunk, or hungover, or one you can only talk about while drunk, or hungover, or just one that features a Fitzgeraldian amount of drinking in its exposition. Be prepared to part with it, and learn to love another.

We'll make sure you eat great food and drink good drinks, make new friends, get some swag, and meet local authors. We'll have giveaways, a sponsored after-party.

We're excited to announce that Dinah Sanders will be joining us! Dinah is the author of Discardia, about how to make room for "awesomeness" in your life. She also runs Bibulo.us, a whimsical blog about cocktailing around the world. You can see her latest post on how to apply the lessons from Discardia to your liquor cabinet here.

Tickets are $25, and they can be purchased in the store or at Brown Paper Tickets online or 800-838-3006

Our bookswaps always sell out, so it’s not too early to prepare!
